To pretend or not to pretend – that is the question
July 17th, 2010 by Kiran (267 Reads)

Dear friends, here is a very sweet/ funny/ thought provoking exchange I have with a Lene, a participant of the AIM training in Caldas-Portugal in June.

- Lene in Portugal _

Just that you have the background. For getting a certification at the Training I had only two requirements – FIRST to write a 3 page essay on one of the new concepts explained there and SECOND to sign a paper that was passed around at the end of the fourth day and several hours of possibility to ask questions, that stated “I have asked all the questions I had”…. This seems not so outrageous but here is what Lene feels about this :

Dear Kiran,

First I want to say thank you for the seminar in Caldas. It was nice, I learned a lot, although I am very disappointed with the end of it. I came all the way from Norway to get a certification for the AIM training. Just because I had some questions I was not approved. I still do not understand. Kiran, you said to be able to learn, you have to ask. What is wrong here, what is wrong with having lots and lots of questions. It does not mean that I understand less than the others…?

If this was to create a huge DLE, it sure did it for me. However, I still want the certificate.
You cannot set rules about how to get certified and then change them last minute. I felt squeezed, I had no choice. I had more questions and I am not a liar so I could not sign the paper. It was a test of my integrity and I passed (in heaven), but please do not punish me for this ridicilous thing.

I want to write the three pages that originally were required to get the certification. Can I do this and get evaluated?

The best, Lene Lovdahl

Kiran’s reply :

Dear Lene

I certainly appreciate your sense of integrity and not wanting to sign the paper that “ I asked all my questions” required to get certified.

At all other trainings Certificates are passed out either after a lot of book learning and prove that you can re-produce fixed answers in a multiple choice style or as another extreme - are just handed out free to anyone without further questions.

Both ways have never appealed to me, and are the basis and result of our cultural misunderstanding of learning. People are programmed to believe in the value of certificates and titles – make huge investments in getting them – and once achieve usually settle down, expect respect from others and eventually even themselves believe that the title gives them the qualification to do what they do.

It would be easiest for me to pass out certificates without further ado, but in my life I have a vision and feel a mission to reform not only our health system but also our methods of education.

In this vision I can  see a future where people have abandoned the believe-in and requirement-for titles to impress others and to fool themselves. Titles are an informational way to make you self-confident not because of your own trust in yourself but because you are approved by what you and others consider an authority. As a result this leads to stagnation, deception and eventually the need for sickness.

As you  know the focus of my teaching is  “You have to be and remain in a state of DLE for healing, learning and spiritual growth”. For that reason, did NO true teacher ever issue titles or certificates because this will always promote the opposite.

However knowing that we are in times of transition, where most clients still need and believe in titles, I will give you all the power and responsibility to decide when you are ready to deserve a certificate – what could be better than this choice – but exactly this freedom and self-responsibility makes you uncomfortable.

My seminars are geared to rise more questions and give more as sense of NOT-knowing (“I know that I know nothing” – Socrates). This is the DLE that makes you open to be an antenna to the informational realm – that is what true healers need and what they need to understand the results that CoRe gives them.

Out of 40 participants in Portugal only 4 have submitted their essay and have signed the paper “that all their questions were answered” and will therefore get a certificate. Although many have conveyed their appreciation for what they have learned. You are not worse then them because you have more questions – but you still do not understand the need for DLE or have found the confidence to endure it.

Either sign the paper and possibly get sucked in the game of pretense, that all the world plays or “live the DLE and come back to the next training – ask even more questions” – and leave with a certificate or better the confidence that it is not necessary anymore.

and become the lifelong explorer that certificates want to deny us

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

T.S.Eliot
